- November 22, 2004
|
-
The
meeting was called to order at 1203.
- Christmas Party - Will be
in the atrium in the CE building from 12-3 on Dec.
14th. You can bring your children. We would like everyone to
bring a covered dish. You can also do the secret Santa gift for less than
$10. If you are bringing your children, please RSVP the number so that we
can be sure there is enough food for everyone.
- Belk Fundraiser - We still
need people for Saturday, Nov. 27th and
Sunday, Dec. 5th. There needs to be at
least two people to fill each slot. Please go to the SNA website and sign up
for a time.
- Domino's Fundraiser - We are
going to get 100 tickets to sell for $10 a piece. You can get them from
Amanda and Becca. You will have to have your money up front in order to get
the cards. They will have the cards by Monday.
- Bake Sale - We sold $335 worth
of baked goods. This is the most money ever raised from a bake sale with the
SNA.
- Bruster's Ice Cream - On Dec.
9th there will be ice cream for sell for $1 a scoop. The money
goes to the SNA. We will also sell hot chocolate and apple cider. We need
people to sign up for 1 hour shifts on the SNA website.
- Activity Fair - Will be held in
Feb. The date is not final. If there are any specific hospitals that you
want to come, please let Becca or Amanda know as soon as possible. Start
getting your resumes in order.
- Canned Goods Drive - Canned
goods will go to the "Helping in His Name Food Pantry".
- Senior Meeting - On Dec. 6th to
discuss pictures, caps and gowns, graduation, Hurst Review, and Mrs. Weir
will be there to talk about portfolio's.
- Military Boxes - The SNA would
like to send care boxes overseas for the soldiers. They need items such as
stationary, batteries, playing cards, chapstick, etc. We would like to do
this in Feb. These are not shoeboxes.
- First Aid Kit Fundraiser - Go
door-to-door and sell first aid kits. We need ideas of how to sell these. If
anyone is interested, please contact a member of the SNA board.
- Pinning Ceremony - on Dec.
15th for the new graduating seniors. They need volunteers to seat
people and give refreshments. E-mail Christie if you would like to help out.
- CPR Class - E-mail Christie if
you would like to attend. She needs to know ASAP. She does not have a date
set, but will post it on the website.
- Mentor Program - for the new
upcoming Juniors, we would like to turn over the mentor program to the
juniors that are currently in the program. This allows for it to be
transitioned for the new board in the Spring.
- Adopt a Family - Erika has not
been able to get in touch with DEFACS, so we are looking for other ideas and
families to work with for Christmas. Stephanie has two families with her
organization that we can adopt. ACE is another program with families we can
adopt. E-mail Erika with any ideas or suggestions.
- Clothing Drive - The Inner
Harbor is the only place in GA where mentally disabled kids are allowed to
stay. They always need clothes and we will make this our theme for Dec. We
will need all types of clothes and sizes for donations. Deadline for clothes
is Dec. 14th. The Haven House is a
shelter for battered women that will accept clothes.
- Resolution - Al is making a
resolution for Clayton State to submit to NSNA. He would like people to help
him with the resolution. His resolution will involve disaster training being
a part of the nursing curriculum, tort reform, and the ethics of palliative
being added to the curriculum.
- Meeting brought to a close at 1314.
