SNA Minutes
- January 31, 2005

The
meeting was called to order at 1206.
-
Board members present: Erika Whetzel,
Heather Underwood, Becca Snyder, Dawn Pollard, Beverly Hill, and Beth Turner
- Accreditation - Dr. Wilson
invited us to attend the meeting just for students on Thursday, Jan.
3rd in room C14 to talk to the accreditation board. This meeting
will be a question and answer session about the nursing program.
- Elections - The deadline
for the applications to turn in is Feb. 7th.
Candidate speeches will be held on Feb. 28th.
Winners will be announced after Spring Break. You can visit the website to
print off an application. Complete the application and place it in a sealed
envelope and place it in the SNA mailbox.
- Senior Pictures - Will be on Feb.
4th from 11:00 to 1:15. Please go to the website to sign up for a
timeslot. The more people who sign up, the cheaper the cost. Please keep in
mind that you will need these pictures for Boards.
- Tort Reform and Resolution -
Tort Reform: www.Congress.org,
inflammatory language "incompetent". Resolution: Al Braun is
preparing a resolution for medical marijuana. He would like to get student's
approval before taking it to the dean to get the school approval. This is in
support of research for medical marijuana to see if it has positive affect
on patients. The people that would use this are people with terminal
illnesses that cannot find relief in any other way. Vote: The vote is to
proceed with the resolution to the Dean of Clayton College and State
University School of Nursing.
- NSNA - At this point we would
like to go ahead and get plan tickets. Registration and hotel will be
handled in March. We will leave on Tues., April 5th
and come back on Sat., April 9th. The
deadline to turn in applications is Mon.
- T-Shirts - You can go to the SNA
website to review the shirts. There is a senior t-shirt. It is $15 for short
sleeve and $20 for long sleeve. We are also selling the GI Bleed t-shirt. If
you would like to purchase this shirt, print out an order form and give it
to Heather. The deadline to turn in the order form is Feb.
11th.
- Meeting brought to a close at 1302.
