About Lora Liu:

Besides my passion for learning and caring for other people, I love to read, play games, hang out with my husband, family and friends, lay in the sun (with plenty of sunscreen!), and travel. I also like to sing and act and almost majored in theatre. I want to take my nursing skills to less fortunate parts of the world and help the people who are suffering.

From the President:

Being the CSUSNA President is an experience that I would never trade. It has provided me with opportunities to grow as a leader and as an individual. I have developed deeper relationships with my fellow board members and advisors. I have learned so much about being more effective in my communication and organization. Please consider being the next CSUSNA President!

Among other duties, the CSUSNA President is responsible for:

 - Running all General and Board meetings each month

 - Securing a date, time, and room for all meetings

 - Securing a speaker for the General meetings

 - Working closely with the other board members and advisors to make sure everyone is working together toward common goals

 - Ensuring that the organization is running according to the bylaws

 - Working with faculty to put on New Student Orientation

 - Go with the 2nd Vice President to the Counsel of School Leaders retreat in May

My name is Leah Wilson. I was born and raised in Augusta, GA and I have been living in Jonesboro for the last two years. I have 2 brothers and one sister. I don't have any children but I have 2 nieces and 2 nephews. I am currently in my third semester of Clayton State University. It took a long time to get here but I'm almost done! Can't wait to graduate! I'm a very easy going person and I love God! Thanks for electing me as your alternate treasurer. I'll do my best to help keep the finances in great standing!

I’m Aubrey Scott and I’m your SNA Alternate for 2009-2010. I’m a senior at Clayton State and will be graduating in May 2010! I work at Hallmark in during the few spare minutes I’m not in school. During those other spare minutes I love to travel, read, and go to concerts. I wanted to go into nursing for the challenge the career would entail and I wanted to be able to have a direct impact for the better on people’s lives.

From the Secretary...

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Secretary. There isn't much of a time constraint and it is flexible with your schedule. As Secretary my main duties include: updating members in GaView, notifying all members of meetings via GaView, and formating minutes for the SNA meetings, among other things such as helping with fundraising. This position works closely with the treasurer in keeping up-to-date roll of members. E-mail me at ascott14@student.clayton.edu with any questions you might have pertaining to the position.

       Jessi Hare            Amanda Scruggs

We’re Jessi Hare and Amanda Scruggs. We’re your CSU Breakthrough to Nursing Directors for the 2009-2010 school year. Both of us graduate in May 2010, and we both work at Spalding Regional in Griffin. Jessi is a nurse extern and Amanda is a unit secretary and nurse extern. You’ll usually see us together along with Aubrey Scott, the Alternate Board Member. But for the sake of individuality here’s a little about each of us:

Amanda lives in Locust Grove with her husband and child. She enjoys cooking, reading, and sleeping. She wanted to go into nursing because of the opportunity to meet different kinds of people and help them through difficult situations in their lives.

Jessi lives in Peachtree City with her grandmother. She enjoys reading and going to concerts. She wanted to go into nursing because she wanted a career with a challenge that would have an impact on people’s lives.

From the BTNs...

Being the BTN Co-Directors for the SNA Board this past year has been an adventure! Talking with fellow and future nursing students is always enjoyable. Communicating with the faculty, board and other students is the biggest part of our job. Setting up community projects is another role. This past semester we hosted a successful Toys for Tots and hygiene kit drives. Along with our responsibilities, we also helped out when our fellow board members needed it because teamwork is what it's all about

Thanks!

Jessi and Amanda

I'm Loan Nguyen Land and in the 3rd semester of nursing school. Between school and keeping up with the website, I enjoy playing my dog and spending time with my husband who is the reason why I am in nursing school. I can't wait until I graduate and pass the boards exam. Hopefully then, I can start a second attempt at my life after school and move forward with what I have always wanted and have been getting ready to do... help others.

From the Webmaster...Me!

Being the webmaster for SNA has let me learn so many new things that I didn’t think that I would be able to do. I’m usually an editor, not a creator. I was surprised to see that the newsletter that I created for fall 2009 had a part in winning the GANS 2009 Newsletter of the Year award. I learned more about webpage editing using Frontpage at CSU and had fun changing things around to keep up with the website awards that CSU’s SNA has been achieving at annual GANS conventions. Being in this position had led me to step up and be on the GANS executive board as EKG Director (newsletter, GANS Blast, and newsletter editor). Overall, being on the SNA board as webmaster has given me the opportunity to learn so much about people and be involved in many events that have increased my experience as a nursing student and in my life in general.

Thanks,

Loan Nguyen Land
