excited about being your new SNA President.
When I graduate I plan on working in either

like to spend my extra time doing
photography and scrapbooking. I am looking
forward to creating new and exciting
opportunities for my fellow nursing

My name is Brittney Watts and I will be a 1st
senior in Fall of 2008. I am happily married
and a mother of a 1yr old beautiful boy. My
family is my heart. When I have free time, I
enjoy spending time with my family, shopping
and vacationing. Nursing has been my passion
since I was 8yrs old and I would play dress
up and patch up my teddy bears with
band-aids. When I graduate, I plan to work
in pediatric oncology and pursue my masters
to practice as a Nurse Anesthetist.
I
am looking forward to this great opportunity
to have an active involvement in a
leadership role as your 2nd vice
president. I enjoy being involved in the
community. This leadership position is a
stepping stone to a definite future of a
professional leader in nursing. This will
allow me to interact with an array of unique
individuals and work together to create
professional relationships between us as
nursing students and the community. I plan
to bring my outspoken and positive and
motivating attitude to the team. I will
advocate for nursing students by providing
portfolio opportunities so you can reach
your goals. If you have any questions or
concerns feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Brittney Watts

Secretary
Grace Vega
Graduates: May 2009
Email Address: gvega@student.clayton.edu
Hi, I’m Graciela Vega (Spanish for Grace).
I’m honored to take on the position of secretary for the SNA and I
sincerely intend to do my best to provide the SNA with my acquired
knowledge and past experiences. I wanted to be involved
because I feel it is important for everyone to stay updated and know
what is taking place; what is available and what changes affect us
as nursing students. As secretary, one of my responsibilities
is to maintain a log of the meeting minutes. I would like to
make this information available for all SNA members since there will
be times when students may not be able to attend a meeting. I
welcome everyone’s feedback and suggestions and I hope we will all
work together to make SNA an organization where all nursing students
can communicate and acquire important resources to assist them in
becoming the best RNs.
I am a mother of three and I have been involved
in the healthcare industry for over 10 years (Nope; I’m not
disclosing my age)! All kidding aside, I enjoy being a part of
the nursing profession because as nurses we have the opportunity to
make a difference and to help others when they are at their most
vulnerable times. This is indeed a very rewarding profession;
not only do we provide medical care but we are also given the
opportunity to empower and educate our patients as we assist them in
maintaining a quality of life. I plan to continue my education
and hopefully one day work as a nurse practitioner. I am still
considering going into education or acquiring special certification
in the field of psychiatric nursing. Either way there are no
limits to what we can achieve as nurses. Word of advice to all
new students, “It will be hard and scary at times but be patient and
persistent; the only time we really fail is when we stop trying”.
Feel free to communicate with me anytime and good luck on your
journey as a CSU BSN.

Kecia Berry
Webmaster
Graduates: Fall, 2009
In high school, I
loved Math and wanted to become an Accountant. I received a BS in
Accounting. Once in the field of Accounting, I realized Accounting
was not the career I wanted to do for the rest of my life because
there was no customer contact. I changed careers and started
working in the medical field as a phlebotomist and loved taking care
of the patients and conversing with the patients. I knew then that
was my calling. I currently work at a children’s hospital and love
what I am doing. Working in the medical field inspired me to pursue
a career in Nursing. I started the Nursing Program at CSU in Spring
2008. It is a very interesting and challenging adventure. As my
parents always told me, “anything worth having is worth working hard
for.” I have two kids and they too are going through the Nursing
Program…with ME!

Barbara Davies
Alternate Position
My name is Barbara Davies, and I am your alternate
for SNA. I will graduate in the fall of 2009. I am still trying to
decide what area of nursing I want to go into, but I am leaning
toward pediatrics or cardiology. That may change as I go through the
program.
I grew up in a small town
in Northwest Ohio with only one traffic light. I am getting used to
all of the traffic in the Atlanta area. I moved to Georgia in August
to attend Clayton State University. I enjoyed my first winter
without lots of snow and look forward to many more. My fiancé,
Noel, just moved to Mobile, Alabama for Physician Assistant School.
I am enjoying eating the 100 dishes to eat in Alabama before you
die. So far I have got about 8 crossed off my list. I look forward
to working with all of you.
