As a youngster, I yearned to be a
nurse. Neither family nor pet could escape my bandaged
interventions. I grew up in Winder, a small town outside of Athens,
Georgia. It was understood that I should attend UGA upon graduation.
My husband (Joe) and I met in 1992 while attending Chemistry 101, we
were assigned lab partners. I pursued a degree in education as this
is family tradition. Joe and I soon started a family. I resigned my
position to stay home with my children. However, I remained active
within community. I served as President - PTO, Secretary – Georgia
School Council, Volunteer Coordinator- Community Theatre. Joseph,
Caleb and Carrington were enrolled in school when I faced the
decision to return to education or pursue my dream of becoming a
nurse. Our family motto “Rise to the Challenge” influenced my
decision. At 33, I entered CSU nursing school. My interest turned
to advancement of student nurses. As President of SNA, my goal is to
facilitate transition from college student to nursing student. I am
implementing a plan of Academic Success that incorporates tutoring
as well as mentoring. My strengths include: community outreach,
drive, determination, organizational skills, maturity and positive
attitude.

My name is Christina Roscoe and I
am honored to be your 1st
Vice President for 2007-2008. I am a 1st semester senior in the
program. I
am married and a mother of a 3 year old boy and 5 year old girl. I
was
formerly in the Legal Industry for 7 years prior to starting nursing
school.
I hope you enjoy the opportunities that we plan to provide for you
and that
you grow as a nursing student to a professional, competent,
registered nurse.
I know that this experience may seem overwhelming but remember that
this tooshall pass and always keep your eyes on the prize. This year I hope
that
you challenge yourself to become more involved within your community
as we
can make a difference in all that we do. I wish you well throughout
this
journey and quitting is not an option.

My name is Sheyla Desir, a first year

Nursing Students become a active and helping part of our
