Constitution of the Accounting Club

 

Article I.  Name

Section 1.  The name of the organization shall be the Accounting Club of Clayton State University.

 

Article II. Purposes and Mission

Section 1.  The Accounting Club works toward enhancing professionalism; increasing knowledge of the accounting profession; providing career growth and networking opportunities; as well as facilitating student/faculty/practitioner interaction. 

Section 2.  The Accounting Club encourages interaction between Clayton State University students and business students of other colleges/universities and local chapters of state and national professional business organizations. 

Section 3.  The Accounting Club seeks to enrich the community by participating in various forms of community service.  This organization is responsible for assisting the local Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site.

Section 4.  The Accounting Club strives to support the mission and vision of Clayton State University’s School of Business.

 

Article III.  Membership and Dues

Section 1.  Membership in this organization shall be open to all Clayton State University Students.

Section 2.  Membership in this organization can be obtained by completing the membership application and submitting it to a faculty adviser or officer of the organization.

Section 3.  There are no membership dues required, but can change upon a vote by membership.

 

Article IV.  Officers

Section 1.  The officers of this organization shall consist of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, vice president of fundraising, and a community service coordinator. In addition, the officers may choose to have a position for a webmaster to maintain the club site.  The officers of this organization may vote unanimously to add officer positions as needed.    

Section 2.  Duties and Powers:  the president and vice president may at any time agree to change the duties, responsibilities, and/or powers of an officer position according to the skills/talents of the individual officer, needs of the organization or due to the vacancy of an officer position.

a.       The president shall preside over all Accounting Club events or may choose to delegate this duty to another officer.  The president shall create the annual budget.  The president shall oversee all functions of the Accounting Club.

b.      The vice president shall perform all duties of the president in his/her absence, handle the marketing functions of the club which include membership recruitment and email broadcasts to the membership and university, and assist the president in any of his/her duties.
